We want to keep you informed about an upcoming change to **QuickBooks** that may affect how you create invoices and quotes.
What’s changing?
QuickBooks has confirmed that the classic invoicing experience (the older invoice creation screen) will be fully removed by the end of April 2026.
Once this happens, all invoices and quotes will be created using the new invoicing experience, and the classic layout will no longer be available.
When will this happen?
* The removal process will begin at least 30 days from 22.01.2026.
* The rollout will happen in stages
* The transition will be completed before the end of April 2026
There is no expected disruption to invoicing during this period.
Who is affected
This change applies to clients using:
* QuickBooks Simple Start
* QuickBooks Essentials
* QuickBooks Plus
* QuickBooks Advanced
Important exception: PayPal & GoCardless users
If you currently use PayPal or GoCardless within QuickBooks:
* You will continue using the classic invoicing experience for now
* QuickBooks has confirmed this will remain supported
* A separate update and timeline for these users will be shared in summer 2026
What’s new in the updated invoicing experience?
QuickBooks has rebuilt invoicing on a newer platform to allow for future improvements. Key benefits include:
* Greater flexibility to personalise invoices
* Create and customise quotes and invoices instantly (no templates required)
* Notifications when a quote is accepted or an invoice is paid
* Centralised quote tracking and activity history
* Autosave when creating invoices and quotes in the mobile app
* Ability to set up automatic payment reminders for customers
Overall, the new experience is designed to be more modern, flexible, and scalable.
Do you need to do anything?
No action is required.
Once the transition is complete:
* You will automatically be defaulted to the new invoicing experience
* The classic layout will no longer be available
* This will happen automatically
